Your GT6 legacy now takes a turn toward Races of Gran Turismo 1. Gran Turismo 1 is all purely circuit racing. There are some single-race events along with an assortment of championships. Everything from Races of Gran Turismo 6: Super. Don't sugar-coat it. As it stands, finishing an endurance race in Gran Turismo 5 requires you sit there for four, nine or 24 hours and see it through.
Gran Turismo 5 is a success - particularly in Europe, where more than half of the game's total 6. He's part of the furniture here, a friendly chair, and reports on all kinds of things, the stranger the better. At least the changing scenery would keep your eyes open. It's fucking bullshit I've done 2 endurance races with the X just to see, The Indy which took me nearly 2 hours and the Grand valley one.
They do pay a terrible return for the time put in. I just can't see myself doing a 9 hour race, let alone a 24 hour one. How is it even possible? Yu would need to leave the PS3 on for days with large pause times and do it a couple of hours a time.
I want to complete all the races for the sake of it, but I struggle to see how I might do this. Myself and a couple of friends would do the endurance races in GT3. We would race for half an hour to an hour each, and then just pass the controller off once we got bored. Dude, you have no idea how much of a better game you are playing rather than the sort of broken one when it came out, all these patches are amazing in comparison to what it was shipped as Sometimes it's boring because of how easy it is and sometimes its fun because the field is pretty even; just like in real motorsport I guess.
Last year's Le Mans race was won by 13 seconds while the year before was all Audi about halfway through. I completed the first 24 hour race in B-Spec and just set up the second.
I guess the question to ask is "do the 2 lap races really last for 2 laps? And do the 10 lap races really last for 10 laps? As for playing the game being "just a chore" - clearly endurance races aren't aimed at you. Not everybody is meant to play all the way through the game.
If you find it boring, don't do it. Finally, to dispel the myth: as long as it's got regular ventilation ie it's not on the carpet a PS3 can be left on indefinitely without adverse effects. That's what it was designed to do. Any modern electronics is actually more likely to fail if you turn it on and off all the time for short periods. It's just the same as the computers that gamefaqs use - this very server has been left online 24 hours a day for several years non-stop.
And PD's original intent - it was for players to emulate real life and swap with their friends and do short stints in cooperation. From: DarkDoc And PD's original intent - it was for players to emulate real life and swap with their friends and do short stints in cooperation. What do you mean that's boring? Some friend you are!
You'll fit right in here on GF. What I've always thought would be more fun than allowing players to swap out during endurance races would be a team-based rally mode. They could have the track generator make random rally stages, and split all the players into 2-player teams. The first player would be able to see the mini-map, but would be in spectator mode.
The second player would be the one driving, but wouldn't be able to see the mini-map. This would force the first player to act as co-driver, and yell out pace notes during the race.
