The bathroom was used for pee-only so as not have any odor issues. We opted to use the shower for storage space. We rented the back bedroom to a young couple from Dallas, TX. They paid-for and used the companion pass, met us on Farm and lived up to the term 'southern hospitality'.
We borrowed an old model 30' Winnebago, which was not fun to drive because of its size and lack of suspension. Plenty of room inside though.
Generator noise and exhaust fumes were an issue. Our carbon monoxide alarm went off a couple times so ventilation is very important.
So hard to say goodbye. Try not to be in a big hurry to leave on Sunday night because it can get crazy. Monday is much easier and you get to savor the last night on the Farm. A foot or two is all it takes. The amount of trash left behind every year is gross. We can each do better. It sucks returning back to civilization, I mean, don't these people realize what crazy shit I've just been through?
Unfortunately, being a part of society means following certain rules. Traffic laws are a good way to ease back into it. And clean the car too. Some of those items might not make it back. I did in Knocked me down for three days. I went to Bonnaroo and found Jesus.
My blog includes posts from each day of every Bonnaroo I've attended. The posts are inter-connected to you can quickly browse through any weekend. How was it? Totally unprepared and the weather was unbearably hot. Still, it was magical, I fell in love with the experience and my favorite moment was watching the sunrise on Sunday morning. This was a fun year and we were much better prepared.
My favorite moment was when the alarm went off at am telling me it was time to go to Kanye West's set and I decided to sleep in. A fun year with cooperative weather. My favorite moment was when Jay Z paid homage to Stevie Wonder, who played the stage before him.
The most crowded year I've attended. And it was freaking hot. My favorite moment was 'Mission Icefly' when paragliders dropped thousands of blinking led lights onto the unsuspecting crowd on Friday night. My favorite moment was getting to the rail to see Puscifer. I had to go through Flogging Molly to get there! The year I went VIP and it was legit! Lots of favorite moments A highlight of my Bonnaroo journey. My first year going as a volunteer. The weather was perfect and the caliber of music top notch.
My favorite moment has to be Jack White's amazing set. This year was freaking hot. Back with the volunteer team and we rocked it. My favorite moment was singing along with the team during Billy Joel. Also, being thrown in the air by the Bonnaroo Cheerleading Squad was pretty neat. Another awesome year volunteering and the weather was mostly favorable. My favorite moment was when the festival was evacuated for a tornado threat and the entire team hid out for an hour.
Luckily, the storm never hit. My first year going solo. It was awesome to roam freely but a little lonely back at camp. My favorite moment was participating in Zach and Katie's wedding proposal. Also, my picture was published in the Bonnaroo Beacon!
The volunteer team returns! It was a perfect combination of weather and music. My favorite moment was a fun backstage field trip that took place. Also, our friend Ron slapped-the-hell-out-of-the-bag on Sunday night. Inforoo - The source, the mothership, home base.

Here are my charity recommendations:. OTI provides for all education, health needs and caretaker support for each child. ShelterBox is a global disaster relief charity that deploys basic shelter and other life-saving items such as solar lights, water purification and blankets. Aid items are tailored to meet the demands of each disaster situation and hand delivered by a volunteer Response Team.
To Write Love On Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. Most definitely. But for water, right? Good luck trying to smuggle in alcohol. Last year, was the first time clear bags were required on the festival grounds — a security measure put in place after the Las Vegas concert shooting.
This year, there have been some slight updates to the Centeroo bag policy. In addition to clear backpacks, festival attendees can also carry fanny packs, single-pocket drawstring bags, small clutch purses and empty hydration packs with no more than two front pockets.
Yes, empty. You can also bring in blankets, point-and-shoot cameras and those incredible totems. Just make sure to get solar-powered ones.
I'd take several strands. Definitely worth having several battery-operated fans! These come in different colors too!
Don't forget the batteries! If you're anything like me, mosquitos will ruin your life. Have several of these in your campsite to keep them away! Don't forget the lighter for your citronella candles and You'd be surprised how nice it is to have a homey feel even if you're only there for five days.
Take the time to decorate your small campsite! You may find that it's worth it to have a hammock at your campsite. Just remember you only have a 10x10 space. However, perhaps you'd rather sleep in a hammock instead of a tent. You're going to want a cooler that can keep ice relatively frozen for a long time so I'd recommend a Yeti or something equivalent. I'd take coolers - one for food and one for food. Instead of taking a bunch of bottled water which is terrible for the environment, take a water cooler fill with filtered water before you leave and then add ice to it to keep it cold.
Don't take a bunch of paper plates, plastic utensils, and plastic cups. Take one set per person to help reduce waste. In order to wash your dishes for multiple use, take this set! Stay hydrated with a Klean Kanteen. Water stays super cold for a long time with these amazing bottles.
You can fill up at your campsite or at the many refilling stations around Bonnaroo. Consider also taking a Camelbak for continuous hydration. Seriously, it would be difficult to drink too much water here. I would definitely pack the following hygiene items for your Bonnaroo packing list.
You'll be draining your battery so take a portable charger! Charging stations are hard to come by at Bonnaroo so a solar charger could be a real lifesaver! This one is perfect for slipping in your back pocket or side satchel during the festival. Those Tennessee afternoons really heat up in June. Usually, any music festival requires loads of time out in the hot sun. This is definitely true for Bonnaroo. Make sure to bring lots of drinking water. A good rule of thumb is one gallon per day per person.
Stock up on a few big tanks before you go. These gallons of spring water will do the trick. You are going to need somewhere to sleep during Bonnaroo. Most festival-goers use tents, which are ideal, although hammocks could work too. This tent is inexpensive, can fit up to two people, and has a wide entrance for easy entry and exit.
You will need to lay something on the ground at your campground to chill on outside. A simple blue tarp from the hardware store will do. Your other option is to invest in a solid waterproof tarp specifically for camping. This one is super durable and camper-approved. An air mattress will make your sleep at the festival infinitely more comfortable. Imagine sleeping on the hard ground as opposed to sleeping on a comfy mattress! Make sure you bring the air pump with you, and buy an air mattress that comes with a pump that can use your car as a power source!
A phone case that charges your phone will come in handy if you need to charge your phone on the go at any point during the festival. This case can fully charge your phone up to two times, and I personally use it almost every day.
